Controlling the Networking Stack

The Linux networking stack can be controlled to determine how the end product responds to things on the network. This is all covered in the Documentation for the Linux kernel, and is included here for reference.

There are easy to set - for example, to turn off the ping response, just :

echo 1 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/icmp_echo_ignore_all
