Description The Blackfin Landscape LCD EZ-Extender daughter board extends the capabilities of the EZ-KIT Lite by allowing users to connect to a landscape LCD on the Blackfin BF52x, BF53x and BF54x processors. The EZ-Extender connects to the ADSP (Analog Digital Signal Processor)-BF526 EZ-Board/EZ-KIT Lite, ADSP (Analog Digital Signal Processor)-BF537 EZ-KIT Lite, ADSP (Analog Digital Signal Processor)-BF538 EZ-KIT Lite, or the ADSP (Analog Digital Signal Processor)-BF548 EZ-KIT Lite. The EZ-Extender supports a 3.5” landscape QVGA (320x240) display from SHARP. This LCD Display can operate at VDDIO from 1.6V to 3.6V. This allows this LCD to be a good fit for both normal use as well as low power applications. The Analog Devices AD7879 is used as the low cost touchscreen controller for the LCD Display. The AD7879 on the EZ-Extender is a small 16 pin LFCSP package and is also ideal for low power applications.. The EZ-Extender also has an Analog Devices AD7147-1 programmable controller for capacitance touch sensors. The capacitance controller interfaces to the Blackfin processor via a simple TWI (Two Wire Interface (I2C-compatible)) (Two Wire Interface). The other end of the controller will interface to external capacitance sensors implementing functions such as capacitive buttons and scroll wheel. The AD7879, AD7147-1, and the Sharp Display cannot all be used simultaneously. This is due to limitedGPIO (General Purpose Input/Output)availability on the BF537 StampPPI (Parallel Peripheral Interface)Interface.
