General Purpose Timers The Blackfin processor provides a bunch of general purpose timers which can operate in a variety of modes, both input and output. The timers support the following modes: Single-shot mode for interval timing and single pulse generation Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) generation with consistent update of period and pulse width values External signal capture mode with consistent update of period and pulse width values External event counter mode The number of available timers may vary according to the Blackfin variant and the pin may be muxed with other peripherals, so please refer to your HRM ((Blackfin) Hardware Reference Manual) for exact resources. Remember that all timing values are in units of system clocks (SCLKs) and that your system clock dictates the smallest measurable waveform (1 SCLK (System Clock)) as well as the longest measurable wafeform (2^32 - 1 SCLKs).
