| 2007-04-24 | Posted By: Mike Frysinger Infrastructure Updates As some may have noticed, SVN is no longer available via http or https. We've found both protocols to be unreliable so we've switched to svn and svn+ssh. For specific project details, see the scm page for the respective project. You can switch your old http checkouts to svn. See our wiki for more information: http://docs.blackfin.uclinux.org/doku.php?id=version_control_systems#subversion_quick_start Also, password logins are disabled now. If you wish to make commits, you will need to utilize public ssh key authentication. Add ssh keys for your account in the "My Stuff" page. |
| 2007-04-20 | Posted By: Mike Frysinger Website Downtime Our main webserver was experiencing CPU overheating due to the high traffic loads. Rather than trying to constantly recover this machine at the expense of system downtime, we've moved all of the resources off of it and onto a much newer system. If you're reading this message, you're accessing the new system. Hopefully the beefier and cooler machine will forestall anymore significant downtime. |
| 2007-03-26 | Posted By: Mike Frysinger Database downtime Another day, another dead power supply. Looks like the power supply went down in the database server this time. Good thing we had ordered some spares. Hopefully now that we've replaced all the cpu fans and all the power supplies in our aging machines, we should be OK from here on out. Only time will tell though. |
| 2007-03-09 | Posted By: Mike Frysinger Webserver Downtime Our webserver was down due to power supply failure. It's back up now (you are reading this news after all) on a spare power supply while a new one is sent out. Sorry for the troubles! |
| 2007-01-19 | Posted By: Mike Frysinger User Registration Troubles Hopefully the trouble new users were having with registration should be all set now since we've installed an update to address this. |
| 2007-01-12 | Posted By: Mike Frysinger Database Downtime Our backend database server experienced a fan failure which caused some downtime (~24 hours) while it was fixed up. Due to this downtime, some of the GForge features got hung up. Some have noticed this in the form of forum/tracker e-mails not being sent out and a bunch of our release files returning 404's. Hopefully the forum/tracker e-mail notices are fixed up and working now. It'll take sometime for the public mirror to be fully repopulated (a day or two). |
| 2006-12-23 | Posted By: Mike Frysinger System Upgrade and Status As many have noticed, we've mostly finished our transition to the new version of GForge. It was a rocky transition, but we think worth it. Anonymous CVS will be up and down as we test out the hardware and convert projects over to Subversion. Your downloads should also be much faster as we have offloaded them to a high speed mirror. |
| 2004-08-30 | Posted By: Robin Getz Site hit by Racoon After a raccoon had short encounter with a 115kV (or higher) substation, the power for a large section of downtown Toronto was off for over an hour on Sunday. Thanks to Michael Durrant the site should now back up and operational. Remeber - Murphy always says that this kind of stuff always happen when your sysadmin takes a vacation day. Surprisingly, there was no mention of the blackfin.uclinux.org and uclinux.org sites going down in the popular media :) http://www.ctv.ca/servlet/ArticleNews/story/CTVNews/1093815558384_51/?hub=Canada |
| 2004-06-30 | Posted By: David Skocypec moo Downloads Fixed The issues that the site was having with large downloads has been fixed... Let us know if any further issues are seen. -David |
| 2004-04-23 | Posted By: Robin Getz Web Site Update For those who have found things a) slow or b) flakey, we are working on it... By the end of next week (30Apr), we should be able to have a decidicated 1.5M line for this site. (which will hopefully fix the bandwidth/dropped packets/etc issues for most people). We are also going to be replacing hardware, because there are some SDRAM errors that are causing apache to crash... (sorry) If you are still having issues, please let me know. rgetz@blackfin.uclinux.org |
