This is the buildroot Linux distribution for ADI Blackfin and future processors.
Buildroot is a set of Makefiles and patches that makes it easy to generate a complete embedded Linux system. Buildroot can generate any or all of a cross-compilation toolchain, a root filesystem, a kernel image and a bootloader image. Buildroot is useful mainly for people working with small or embedded systems, using various CPU architectures (x86, ARM, Blackfin, MIPS, PowerPC, etc.) : it automates the building process of your embedded system and eases the cross-compilation process.
If you're new to buildroot Linux, the first thing to do is check out the documentation . This should help you get your development host PC set up, and get you compling your first Linux distribution from source.
We do provide complete documentation for both the Linux kernel and the buildroot Linux distribution here. If you have a question about the Linux kernel, and can't find the answer in the documenation, please ask on the support forums. and we can either add something, or point you to the right place.
