| 2008-07-30 | Posted By: Wojtek Skulski Connector Layout footprints released I released a small OrCAD Layout library with 3 footprints: the 140-pin Hirose connector for the main card and the daughter card, as well as the 2mm power connector for the daughter card. These footprints are highly nontrivial and therefore worth releasing. |
| 2008-07-28 | Posted By: Wojtek Skulski Replaced revisionE with revision F. I removed BlackStamp revision E and replaced with revision F. The reason for change: rev. E 140-pin connector was not backwards-compatible with rev. C connector. The new revision F restores backward-compatibility. On this occasion I also added the 2nd SPI flash chip. See the Change Log for the full list of changes. |
| 2008-07-17 | Posted By: Wojtek Skulski BlackStamp Rev C runs newest kernel and uBoot BlackStamp Rev C runs the newest kernel and uBoot 1.1.6. The first I/O daughter card is almost designed. It will be manufactured soon. |
| 2008-07-17 | Posted By: Wojtek Skulski New BlackStamp hardware release E I am releasing version E of BlackStamp for those who want to use the newest PCB and parts, because some parts have been discontinued since the Rev C was released in 2006. Revision E has not been manufactured (yet). We are still using Rev C boards for application development. Please read Change_log_RevC_RevE.txt for further details. |
| 2008-06-09 | Posted By: Wojtek Skulski BlackStamp will be used for control system University of Rochester will use BlackStamp to develop a variety of high-performance control applications for our Omega/Omega EP high-power laser system. Our first two projects are remote GPIB controller and a high-resolution multichannel time-to-digital converter. A team of hardware and software engineers will work to implement the instruments. |
| 2008-01-15 | Posted By: Wojtek Skulski Released U-boot 1.1.3 for BlackStamp BF532 0.95c I released U-boot 1.1.3, which ran on BlackStamp 0.95c. This U-Boot booted Linux kernel from tftp, SPI Flash, and Parallel Flash (I tested both). I used the kernel and tools 2006R1. I do not know whether later kernel/tools or later U-boot can be ran (I am sure yes, but I have not tried). The U-boot 1.1.3 which I am releasing is a complete directory tree which just compiled the bstamp532_config. |
| 2006-07-11 | Posted By: Wojtek Skulski BlackStamp is running uClinux kernel 2.6.16.11 BlackStamp is running the uClinux system 2.6.16.11.ADI-2006R1. UClinux system was downloaded to the SDRAM from the local PC by U-Boot using the TFTP. |
| 2006-07-11 | Posted By: Wojtek Skulski BlackStamp boots Linux kernel from parallel flash The compressed uImage was transferred to BlackStamp using TFTP and saved in parallel flash. The board was power cycled. After powering up the board booted U-Boot from serial SPI flash. The U-Boot then automatically booted Linux from parallel flash. |
| 2006-06-29 | Posted By: Wojtek Skulski BlackStamp boots U-Boot from SPI flash. BlackStamp boots U-Boot from SPI and then sucessfully pings the coLinux host. The CPLD code and SPI flashing "howto" were both released. |
| 2006-03-31 | Posted By: Wojtek Skulski Released CPLD code ver. 0.1. Released ver. 0.1 of CPLD code for BlackStamp Rev 0.95. Enables programming the SPI flash M25P32 connected to the CPLD, using an inexpensive Parallel Cable III. Status: communication with SPI flash achieved. |
| 2006-03-27 | Posted By: Wojtek Skulski Communication with SPI flash established. I wrote the initial version of CPLD code and compiled under Xilinx XST 6.3. Then I programmed the CPLD using the Digilent Parallel Cable III (available for $12 from www.digilentinc.com). Then, after some grief and tweaking the parallel port settings, I established communication with SPI flash, using the same cable and XAPP800 software utility x_spi.exe. I do not have the U-boot or kernel compiled yet, so I have not yet programmed the SPI flash. Booting the uClinux from SPI flash is next on the list. In summary, the SPI flash seems under control, using a $12 cable. |
| 2006-03-27 | Posted By: Wojtek Skulski Prototype assembled. The prototype BlackStamp board was assembled and powered. A few minor mistakes were found and posted in the "erratum" file. I also uploaded three photos to give a better idean of the actual board. My next task: program the CPLD such that the SPI flash can be programmed. |
| 2006-01-26 | Posted By: Wojtek Skulski The website blackstamp.net is online The website blackstamp.net is online. You can pay your fees for using the design files. Unpopulated PCBs are available at no profit to me. |
| 2006-01-26 | Posted By: Wojtek Skulski BlackStamp BF-532 released Newly released BlackStamp BF-532 is software compatible with ADI-STAMP BF-533. Design files and Gerbers are available at http://blackfin.uclinux.org/projects/blackstamp/. Enjoy and make use of the new Blackfin reference design! |
